Project: Installation of a one-acre children’s educational farm and garden
“This project is part of our three-day nature education and camping program that we provide for underserved children. Each week, inner-city students plant seeds, harvest fresh organic vegetables for their dinner, and engage in fun hands-on activities in the garden. They also milk goats and make fresh cheese, and learn about chickens and collect eggs for their breakfast. They have a blast while connecting with where their food comes from, and they gain positive attitudes about healthy eating.”More Youth Development Grantee Stories
